I have to be honest,

I did think for a split second earlier in the season that I may not get to write a blog post with Wrexham picking up back to back victories beforehand but luckily that concern was short-lived.

The Mold Road Stand and Kop at Wrexham

Not just back to back victories but impressive back to back victories!

I did say in the last post that I do believe we will turn this slump around (check the last blog as proof) and since that Wrexham have brought in two very good signings in Dave Artell and Mark Carrington, both with huge football league experience (which can have its good and bad points I know). Throw the return of Jay Harris and Stephen Wright into the equation and you could see the improvement in the Luton performance.

You have to wonder if Theo Bailey-Jones has got his chance due to the team needing fresh ideas or simply because he stated a claim in training and reserve team matches so much that he could not be left out any longer? Either way I couldn’t care less!

The raw pace he brings, as well as a decent end product has been missing so far this season, and if he keeps it up I hope the board have his contract extension ready to give him because it would be a crime to let him leave in a few months time. Although he was a bit more subdued against Gateshead, you would fancy him to perform better at home, with a strong emphasis on attack.

Steve Tomassen’s game seems to have gone up a level these past two matches, and I am sure it is no small part to Mark Carrington being brought into the squad to create competition for places, which is exactly what we needed. Dave Artell is practically guaranteed a starting place until next May due to the impact he has made in defence already.

For a team that is not used to featuring in the lower half of the division, personally I believe it is going to make this season even the more exciting by watching us surge up the league week after week, which I believe we will do.

Watch this space!
