Fifteen games into the season is enough to judge the performances of players in the Premier League.

Some have been in the lowest of abyss; others have hit the heights thus far.

Top 10 performers in the Premier League so farHere we look at 10 players who have sauntered, strutted and flared in the English top flight thus far:

1. Jamie Vardy – Leicester City

The 28-year-old’s rise from the ashes to prominence has got every football fanatic bolting from the blue. 14 goals from the 15 outings is stirring but the way he went about it tells a lot – breaking Van Nistelrooy’s record of consecutive goals in the Premier League.

His performances have seen Leicester in the top four rocking shoulders with Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City. People have suggested he is a busted flush but on the evidence of what we have seen thus far, such claims are void.

2. Chris Smalling – Manchester United

The English Sergio Ramos as some fans tag him is the best center half in the Premier League momentarily. The 25-year-old has matured into a highly accomplished centre-half. He has marshalled a defence that shipped in a torrent of goals last season. His leadership, command at the back and positional awareness has made Van Gaal’s men the meanest team so far in the Premier League. United are placed 3rd in the league thanks in part to his immaculate performances.

3. Eric Dier – Tottenham Hotspur

The English international has been up there with the very best defensive midfielders in Europe this season. Having marshalled the White Hart Lane side in the middle of the pitch. His ability to join the attack and pitch in with goals is eye catching.

4. Willian – Chelsea

The Brazilian flyer has been the best player in a troubled Chelsea team having scored from free kicks on a number of occasions this season. The 27-year-old is not a proven goal scorer so his return of three goals tells a lot. He has gone about his business excellently despite the struggles his side has endured thus far. Willian’s form could help Chelsea arrest their slump.

5. Mesut Ozil – Arsenal

The former Real Madrid play maker has notched 11 assists at this moment in time. He creates lots of chances in games and that has helped Olivier Giroud discover his form this term.

He endured a lot of flack from the media following his arrival from the Bernabeu but has disproved his critics with some majestic displays. His form will be instrumental to the Gunners title bid. He has forged a particularly delightful understanding with Alexis Sanchez so how he performs in the Chileans absence remains to be seen.

6. Dimitri Payet – West Ham United

The Frenchman has been one of the best buys in the summer. He has carried his fine form from Ligue 1 into the Premier League having already racked up five goals and two assists this season.

How West Ham fare in the wake of his prolonged injury very much remains to be seen. The West Ham faithful will feel miffed with the tackle that put their playmaker out for some weeks.

7. Jack Butland – Stoke City

The English international has been on the rise this term. He has been ever present this term for the Potters after Asmir Begovic departed for Chelsea. His form has seen him earn a place in the Three Lions squad and won’t come as a surprise if he makes the cut for Euro 2016 in France.

8. Riyad Mahrez – Leicester City

The Algerian international has been one of the revelations this season. His form has taken a nose dive in the last few weeks, well the sun gets eclipsed at times but all in all it’s been a particularly good season for him. He has been an important cog for Leicester this season as he scores goals, creates them and works diligently on the back foot.

9. Hector Bellerin – Arsenal

People raised concerns on whether his style suits the Premier League. The Barcelona youth product has gone on to silence his critics as well as proving he is better than most of the right backs in the league. He defends well and is impressive going forward thanks to his lightning pace and smart decisions. He is only 20 so it suggests the best is yet to come from him.

10. Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City

The former Chelsea man has nudged Eden Hazard as the best Belgian footballer in the Premier League at this moment in time. He has contributed to 15 goals thus far with nine goals and six assists in all competitions highlighting his importance to Manuel Pellegrini’s behemoths.

He was deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho prompting him to join Wolfsburg, where he increased his price to £55 million. He has shown glimpses of why City parted with such a hefty amount to bring him back to England. His form will very much tell on City’s season.
